Road Closure

Beginning Friday, July 20 at 6:00pm through Monday, July 23 at 5:30am, the 4th Avenue and Ingra Street intersection will be CLOSED. Drivers and pedestrians, please be alert to DETOUR routes on both 4th Avenue and Ingra Street.

What You Need to Know
  • Drivers please be alert to LANE RESTRICTIONS on 36th Avenue for work at Latouche Street and 36th Avenue.
  • Drivers should also be alert to pedestrian DETOUR routes for work on Ingra Street between 5th Avenue and 4th Avenue.
  • Drivers should expect LANE RESTRICTIONS, sidewalk closures, and flagging operations for installation of new traffic signal systems on Ingra Street and 4th Avenue.
Traffic Impacts

Please be alert to workers working on the roadway shoulders. This project will continue work from the 2017 construction season at the intersections of 4th Avenue and Ingra Street, and Latouche Street and 36th Avenue.

Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Neeser Construction, is working to upgrade the intersections of 4th Avenue and Ingra Street, and Latouche Street and 36th Avenue, for improved pedestrian safety and improved traffic thoroughfare including drainage upgrades, curb bulbs, curb ramps, and upgraded traffic signals.

  • Traffic fines are double
  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers

  • Allow additional time when traveling
  • Watch for equipment and workers
