- Drivers should be aware of a temporary DETOUR at MP 84.1 (Peterson Creek) with reduced speeds of 35 MPH. Please drive with caution through this zone.
- Construction crews have started demolition of the existing Peterson Creek bridge, as well as continuing work on the temporary bridge at Virgin Creek.
- Drivers should be aware of crews replacing culverts between MP 83 and 84.
- Drivers should expect reduced speeds and ONE-LANE TRAFFIC with PILOT CAR and flagging operations Monday through Saturday 7:00am to 5:00pm.
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in partnership with Granite Construction, is working to improve road conditions on the Seward Highway from MP 75 to 90. Upgrades will include road resurfacing, road realignment, passing lanes, drainage improvements, shore protection improvements, and pedestrian facilities. This project will also include new bridges at Glacier, Virgin and Peterson Creeks, and the rehabilitation of the Ingram Creek bridge.
