What You Need to Know

  • Be alert to workers on roadway between MP 58 through 79 on the Sterling Highway.
  • Be alert to clearing crews working on the roadway shoulder from 6:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Beginning Tuesday, July 25th, utility crews will be working between MP 77 to MP 79 from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
  • Speed reductions begin Monday, July 31.
  • Night shifts begin Monday, July 31, 8:00pm to 8:00am, Monday through Saturday. Please expect flagging and PILOT CAR operations.

Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation in partnership with Granite Construction are working to improve road conditions on the Sterling Highway from milepost 58 to 79. Upgrades will include road resurfacing, shoulder widening, passing lanes, pedestrian walkway for Skyline trail access as well as replacing existing culvert with a new bridge at the East Fork Moose River.
