YUKON DRIVE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS ROAD CONSTRUCTION through July
Road Closure

Yukon Drive is CLOSED from Tanana Drive to Sheenjek Drive through July. Access to the Museum of the North, Geophysical Institute, Butrovich Building and other facilities between Sheenjek Drive and Tanana Loop W are accessible via Yukon Drive. Accessibility will change as construction progresses. Please pay attention to all posted construction signs.

What You Need to Know
  • Please follow posted DETOUR routes for business access on Yukon Drive. Motorcyclists should use extreme caution as there is loose gravel on roads.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction zone. Please follow posted pedestrian DETOUR signs.
  • Construction crews are working to install ADA ramps on the westbound side of Yukon Drive, between North Chandalar Drive and Kuskokwim Way.
Traffic Impacts

Construction crews will be working between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday through Sunday.

Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation is working to resurface Yukon Drive which will include reconstructing existing sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. We will do our best to keep you informed of any project updates and appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. Work is expected to be completed by mid-July 2018.
