What You Need to Know
  • Clearing crews are currently working on the west side of Juneau Creek (Resurrection Trail). This work is anticipated to be complete by mid-September.
  • Drill crews are continuing to work on the east and west side of Juneau Creek.
  • Drivers should be aware of crews and equipment entering and exiting the Sterling Highway at Bean Creek Road and Juneau Creek Road. Crews are performing drilling operations and clearing activities.
  • Hikers on Bean Creek Trail and Resurrection Pass Trail should be aware of equipment and crews near the trail system.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., is performing preliminary land clearing activities required for the new Sterling Highway between MP 45 and 60 in Cooper Landing, Alaska. This work will allow for geotechnical activities, drill rigging, and design access.
