Beginning Friday, May 20 at 12:00pm through Monday, May 23 at 4:00am, the southbound Glenn Highway will be reduced to SINGLE-LANE TRAFFIC near the Old Glenn Highway overpass. Expect traffic to shift between the two lanes as the work progresses.
Expected to begin Thursday, May 31st, be alert to a full RAMP CLOSURE of the northbound Glenn Highway off-ramp towards Palmer. Drivers should follow the DETOUR ROUTE towards Palmer, up to the Trunk Road exit, and then back onto the Glenn Highway.

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Granite Construction, is working to repair damages from the November 2018 earthquake at the Glenn Highway and Parks Highway interchange, as well as adjacent areas. During Fall 2021, crews will be building an access road to the south abutment of the Spring Creek Bridge from the northbound off-ramp towards Palmer. This work should continue through mid-November.
During the 2022 construction season, crews will be rebuilding the northbound off-ramp towards Palmer to the first bridge. Crews will also be repairing the lifting apparatus of one of the high tower lights as well as various areas of slope cracking throughout the Glenn Highway and Parks Highway interchange. This project is expected to be complete in June 2022.
Granite Construction
