GLENN HIGHWAY, GLENN/PARKS INTERCHANGE EMERGENCY REPAIR ROAD CONSTRUCTION through July
Road Closure

Beginning 7:00am Tuesday, July 16 to 7:00pm Tuesday, July 23, the northbound Glenn Highway Off-ramp to Palmer at the Glenn/Parks Interchange will be CLOSED. A DETOUR will be in place for traffic going to Palmer and northbound Glenn Highway traffic. Traffic will be DETOURED to the roundabout to access the Glenn Highway or to Trunk Road to take the Palmer-Wasilla Highway or Bogard Road into Palmer.

What You Need to Know
  • Crews will be working at the Glenn/Parks interchange on emergency repairs associated with embankment slope failure resulting from the November 2018 earthquake.
  • Crews will be reconstructing the shoulder of the highway and installing pavement, striping and guardrail.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation is working to repair the Glenn/Parks interchange from damage done by the November 2018 earthquake. Work will include rebuilding slopes to address slumping, replacing roadway structure, installing new guardrail, paving and striping to return the area to pre-earthquake condition. Work on this project is expected to be complete by the end of July 2019.
