PARKS HIGHWAY BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS ROAD CONSTRUCTION through February
What You Need to Know
  • Crews are working from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
  • Be alert to a new traffic pattern and reduced speeds at Sheep Creek.
  • Drivers should expect reduced speeds, flagging operations, and minor DELAYS between Sheep Creek, at MP 88, and Montana Creek, at MP 96. 
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Hamilton Construction, is replacing the existing bridges at Sheep Creek, Goose Creek, and Montana Creek. Crews also will be improving the existing roadway leading into the bridges with new signage, and guardrail.

Safety in all construction zones:

  • Traffic fines are double
  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers
  • Drive with headlights on
  • Allow additional time when traveling
  • Watch for equipment and workers
