Road Closure

Expected to begin June 18, through 5:00am Monday, June 21, the northbound ramp off Seward Meridian Parkway onto northbound Parks Highway will be CLOSED. DETOUR ROUTES will be in place for this work at Hyer Road, Old Matanuska Road, and the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. This work is weather-dependent.

What You Need to Know
  • Drivers should expect ONE-LANE ROAD CLOSURES as work progresses for guardrail clean up work.
  • Drivers should be aware of crews removing old curb, gutters, and curb ramps in select locations, and installing new ones.
  • Drivers should also be aware of crews and equipment in the roadway.
  • Crews will be working at night to remove and rebuild sections of asphalt. Following this work, crews will be performing milling and paving operations, beginning between the Lucus Road and Weber Drive intersections and proceeding south towards Seward Meridian Parkway.
Traffic Impacts

Over the course of the season, be alert to personnel and equipment in the roadway, along with ROAD CLOSURES and DETOUR ROUTES in effect to do specific areas of work during night shifts. Updates on closures will be posted prior to beginning various areas of work.
