What You Need to Know
  • Crews are working on the Sterling Highway between MP 56 and 58, Sunday through Thursday nights, from 9:00pm to 9:00am. Expect SINGLE-LANE CLOSURES, DETOUR ROUTES, and flagging operations.
  • Drivers should expect shoulder work during the day, from 8:00am to 8:00pm, with no traffic impacts.
  • Drivers should be alert to a DETOUR on the Sterling Highway at MP 56.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Scarsella Brothers, Inc., is working to reconstruct the Sterling Highway beginning near Skilak Lake Road to approximately MP 56. Crews will be performing clearing, excavation, and embankment operations, as well as installing drainage, retaining walls, wildlife crossings, paving, signage, and striping.
